I am a professonal educator. I am the sole owner and provider of services for Offstein Educational Therapy, Inc. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, a Master of Arts degree in Special Education, an Elementary Education Credential, a Resource Specialist Certificate, and a Montessori Education Certificate.
I am a Board Certified Educational Therapist and have been an active member of the Association of Educational Therapists (AET) since 1999. To learn more about Educational Therapy and AET, go to my link: Educational Therapy Defined.
I began teaching in the public school system as both a long-term and day-to-day special education substitute teacher in 1977 for the Montebello Unified School District. I preferred working as a substitute, rather than a full-time teacher, so I could devote more time to raising my son and being a stay-at-home wife and mother.
When my son graduated high school, I was hired to teach my own K-5 Resource Specialist Classroom for the Bonita Unified School District. Then, in 1989, the Glendora Unified School District contacted me and hired me to teach the Resource/Special Education 6-8 classes at Goddard Middle School.
My teaching experiences have included pre-school to adult and both regular and special education. I have worked with mentally disadvantaged, emotionally handicapped, learning disabled, gifted, and mainstream students. I taught Special Education and Resource classes at Goddard Middle School, in Glendora, CA for nine years before going into private practice as an educational therapist.
I left the public school system in 1999 and became a member of the Association of Educational Therapists (AET). I attended UCLA Extension to earn my Certificate in Educational Therapy and open my private practice as an Educational Therapist. I subsequently became a Board Certified Educational Therapist (BCET#10151) from the Association of Educational Therapists (www.aetonlie.org). My California State Non-Public Agency License number is 1A-19-189.
Soon after going into private practice as an educational therapist, I learned about EEG (electroencephalograph) Neurofeedback. When I became aware of the amazing healing that could be accomplished through this technique, I began training with Margaret Ayers, the creator of the world’s first patented, Real Time, All Digital EEG Neurofeedback Machine. (USA patents: 4,919,143; 5,024,253; 5,571,057 and patents in England, Germany and Japan). All EEG Neurofeedback equipment used in brain retraining sessions is the patented Margaret Ayers system. You can learn more about Margaret Ayers and Real-Time All-Digital EEG Neurofeedback by going to www.neuropathways.com.

I have personally provided EEG Neurofeedback training to individuals who have suffered from strokes, severe head injury, migraine headaches, cerebral palsy, Down's Syndrome, locked-in syndrome, and coma, as well as various degrees of learning and attention disabilities. I find this therapy to be effective for improving a variety of conditions and encourage you to continue to explore my site to learn more about it.
